05.21.02.0 - Signs and Postings Policy


  1. The use of display materials such as signs, posters, bulletins, television monitors, 
    electronic message boards, and easels serves an important function as internal 
    communication on the campus.

  2. Student associations, student organizations, faculty, and staff may post information and 
    notices concerning events, activities, and services in areas provided by Saint Paul College, 
    including metal posting strips, bulletin boards, and poster stands.

  3. Student associations, student organizations, faculty, and staff shall coordinate the posting 
    of all information and notices concerning events, activities, and services on College 
    bulletin boards with the Office of Student Life. All other information posted, including 
    information posted on metal posting strips and poster stands, shall be coordinated with the 
    Marketing Department.

  4. Displays shall not impede or obstruct the use of hallways or other public spaces, and shall 
    be in accordance with all state fire codes. Materials may not be posted for commercial purposes.

  5. All postings for bulletin boards must be approved and stamped by the Office of Student 
    Life (Room 1170). When bringing posters for approval, a maximum of ten (10) 8.5” x 
    11” or five (5) 11” x 17” posters will be approved.

  6. All postings for metal posting strips must be approved and stamped by the Marketing 
    Department (ext. 1370). When bringing posters for approval, a maximum of ten (10) 8.5” x 
    11” posters will be approved.

  7. All postings for poster stands must be approved and stamped by the Marketing 
    Department (ext. 1370). A maximum of five (5) 24” x 36” posters will be approved.

  8. Posters or flyers may not be placed on exterior or interior walls, floors, doors, windows, 
    sidewalks, statues, or public art. Using tape, paste, glue, spray adhesives, nails, heavy 
    gauge staples, or other metal fasteners for posting is prohibited.

  9. All posted materials must include the name of the sponsoring organization, department or 
    responsible individual, as well as the date, time and location of the program, if applicable.

  10. The maximum posting period for materials on bulletin boards and metal posting strips is 
    ten (10) business days unless approved by the Office of Student Life or Marketing 
    Department. The use of the CastNet System is strongly encouraged and is required for all 
    items needing to be posted longer than ten business days.

  11. All posters will be distributed and removed on a routine basis.

  12. All postings must meet ADA requirements including the EEOC statement.

  13. All posters in public posting areas must address school business or school sponsored 
    information.

  14. Posting is dependent on space availability.

  15. Bulletin Holders marked for Public Safety are not to be used by others.

  16. All locking display areas will be maintained by their designated areas.

  17. Displays and printed materials that do not comply with any of the above regulations will 
    be removed. In addition, the College reserves the right to remove any displays or printed 
    materials if, in the opinion of the College, the materials would subject the College to a 
    claim by a third party or if the displays or printed materials are in violation of Minnesota 
    State Colleges and Universities Board Policies or federal or state laws.​
